How long does a driveway install take?

Why is your quote more than the cheaper one I got?
Because we're pricing the drive that lasts 15+ years, not the one that looks good for 3. Our quote includes 200mm dig-out, 150mm MOT Type 1 compacted in layers, concrete-haunched edges, SUDS drainage, 15-year guarantee. Ask the cheap quote to write those 5 items into the contract. If they won't, you know why the price differs.
Do you take a deposit?
No. You pay 50% when materials arrive on day 1, 50% when you've signed off the finished job. No money down, no risk.
Do you offer finance?
0% APR over 12 months on most jobs, longer-term options up to 120 months at competitive rates. Subject to status. We run the options on the quote call.
What surface is best?
Depends. Block paving for kerb appeal & longevity. Tarmac for value on large drives. Resin for modern look & permeability. Gravel for cottage style or budget. Concrete for heavy-vehicle durability. What happens if my drive fails?
15-year written guarantee. If it cracks, sinks, heaves, or fails for any workmanship reason — we rip it out and redo it free. No quibble. Transferable if you sell the house.
Can I match my neighbour's driveway?

Do you do drop kerbs?

Do you install resin over existing tarmac?
Yes, often. If your existing tarmac is structurally sound, we overlay it with resin bound directly. Saves 30–40% vs. a new-base resin install. We test the existing base carefully before committing.

Can you repair an existing driveway?
Often — 40% of the drives we see aren't past saving. A sinkage repair, edge rebuild, or block replacement is usually a day's work and a fraction of replacement cost. We always recommend repair before replacement if possible.

Do you work in bad weather?
Most of the time, yes. Heavy rain stops tarmac and resin work temporarily — those materials need dry conditions to bond. Other work (digging, base laying, block paving) can continue through light rain. We'll flag any weather delays immediately.
Will my garden / lawn be damaged?
We protect adjoining surfaces with boards, tarps, and physical barriers. Minor contact is possible but we reinstate at handover. If access requires significant damage (e.g. getting a digger into a back garden), we flag it on the quote and price accordingly.
Do you work outside normal hours?
For commercial sites — yes, nights and weekends are standard for us. For domestic — generally no, unless specifically requested and budgeted for.
Can I book a start date now?
Yes — once the quote is accepted and deposit waived, we can confirm a start date. Typical lead time is 2–4 weeks (longer in April–September peak season). We rarely slip dates.
What surface has the best resale value?
Block paving, consistently. Estate agents recognise it on sight, it communicates "maintained property", and survey reports don't flag it. Resin and porcelain are gaining ground but block is still the safest bet for resale.
